Adobe InDesign Projects
My Adobe InDesign projects demonstrate my ability to design structured, visually compelling, and professionally polished layout compositions. Using InDesign, I create print-ready and digital publications that combine strong typographic principles, effective visual hierarchy, and precise attention to detail. Below is an overview of the types of projects included in this portfolio and the skills applied throughout each piece.
Publication Layout & Print Design
These projects include brochures, multi-page documents, and event programs.
Skills Utilized:
-
Page layout composition and multi-page document setup
-
Master pages, grids, and baseline alignment for consistent structure
-
Advanced typography using styles, kerning, leading, and type pairing
-
Integration of vector and raster graphics
-
Color swatches, brand palettes, and print color management
-
Exporting print-ready PDF files with bleeds, crops, and press settings
The projects above were created using images that I professionally retouched and color-corrected in Photoshop. Each layout was designed with proper page imposition, ensuring that all pages align correctly when printed, folded, and assembled into booklet form. This includes organizing the spreads so that the front, back, and interior pages appear in the correct sequence after trimming and binding.
Marketing & Promotional Materials
These include flyers, posters, banners, postcards, and branded communication pieces.
Skills Utilized:
-
Clean visual hierarchy and marketing-driven layout
-
Integration of brand identity elements
-
Creative use of typography and layout flow
-
Preparing artwork for both digital and print
-
Composing layouts for different formats
The projects above showcase a range of print designs, including flyers, posters, banners, and postcards. All images used were professionally retouched and color-corrected by me in Photoshop. Each layout was designed with clean visual hierarchy, consistent branding, and print-ready formatting to ensure high-quality output across different sizes and mediums.
Instructional & Academic Design Artifacts
These projects highlight materials created for educational environments, including course handouts, instructional booklets, and digital learning assets.
Skills Utilized:
-
Structuring content for readability and instructional flow
-
Designing templates and reusable layout systems
-
Organizing complex information into simplified visual formats
-
Exporting interactive PDFs when required
The projects above showcase a collection of Instructional and Academic Design artifacts, including syllabi, infographics, course modules, lesson plans, learning guides, assessment sheets, instructional handouts, slide decks, and other related academic materials. Each piece was intentionally structured to clearly convey relevant academic information, using accessible layouts, strong instructional hierarchy, and consistent visual branding to support effective learning and engagement.
Student Work from Visual Communications Courses
As a former instructor of Visual Communications at City Colleges of Chicago – Kennedy-King College, I have also included selected student pieces. These works showcase the design foundations I taught using Adobe InDesign, such as:
-
Layout and composition
-
Typography fundamentals
-
Publication design
-
Grid and alignment systems
-
Creative visual communication
These samples highlight my ability to teach industry-standard layout techniques and guide students in producing professional-quality work.
In Summary
My Adobe InDesign portfolio reflects a deep understanding of publication design, typography, layout architecture, and professional production workflows. Whether for print, digital distribution, or complex multi-page environments, I use InDesign to build content that is polished, organized, and visually impactful.
